C S Rawlings

C. S. Rawlings is an emerging fantasy author of The Oathbound Saga. He was born in Gloucestershire in 1984.

 

His interests within speculative fiction lean heavily toward epic and dark fantasy, with a touch of grimdark—stories grounded in character, moral tension, and the cost of power. He is drawn to layered worldbuilding, ancient histories, and flawed protagonists navigating impossible choices.

 

Outside of writing, he spent over 20 years in private medical practice, which shapes how he approaches realism, injury, and human resilience in fiction. He is also interested in fitness, mountaineering, and anything that tests physical limits—interests that often bleed into his action scenes.

 

These days, much of his energy goes into his greatest role yet: being a parent to a very energetic three-year-old.

 

Geek-wise, he is a huge film buff with the (admittedly useless) ability to quote almost any film he has seen. He has a particular love for 80s cinema, film quotes, and sharing that passion, alongside a lifelong love of reading he hopes to pass on.

 

Reading was a significant part of his childhood and remains central to his adult life—something he is keen to preserve as the world drifts further into technology and endless doomscrolling. The only doom he is interested in is Doom by Bethesda.
